Hey guys, I’m Vicki. I’m here at Dandelion Acres in Bethel, Vermont. It is unbelievable. There’s so much stuff. I have an empty yard at home. I’ve got some neighbors I want to make jealous. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, but I’m going to buy pretty much everything. All right, let’s get going.
Come on.
Look at us. We happen to have matching outfits.
Oh my god. This is when you know we are from Jurassic Park. Oh my god. Look at all these pots here. This is too much.
It’s already I see where this is going. Oh, this guy’s the guy.
Oh my god, there’s more. Come on.
It’s too much. Too excited.
How many different to They all look different here. How many different tomatoes? We throw about 64 different tomatoes.
Shut up. 64 tomatoes. Eileen, you’re an underachiever. Do you have a problem?
I have a lot of customers that like a variety of vegetables.
Ah, and these are peppers. And you grow these, too.
And we grow those, too. We also have we grow about 65 different types of peppers. Over 75 different herbs.
Oh, I need a bigger garden. You know, it’s such a weird thing cuz I was looking for mushroom candles.
They’re here. That’s where they are, guys. I see all these herbs here. Did you smell this last one over here?
Smells like curry, and it’s called curry.
That’s amazing. All right. You have all these herbs. And you grow these, too? We grow a lot of our herbs from seed.
These are our seedlings that we’ll pot on into our pack material. Are you kid?
Do you use reading glass to put each little seed in these little tiny pots? I don’t understand this.
They’re on a germination bench. This is a radiant heat. I think you know what you’re doing at this point. So on this table alone, there’s like thousands of plants here.
Correct.
And so this translates to that whole greenhouse and the other green houses, too.
Okay. All right. That’s amazing. I don’t know anyone else in the state that grows all of these little plants.
Okay. So, how do you know if you want a whole summer show? Cuz I kind of want my neighbors to be jealous. You probably want to go big on annuals. If you have a perennial garden, you can stick annuals in between and that way you always have color.
How do you fill in the bottom? Do you just like fill it all up with dirt?
You can do that. You can put a little layer of, if you’re a heavy waterer, I would put a little layer of stones.
I mean, like, like you look like a lady who’s a heavy waterer.
Your containers are going to need a lighter mix.
Something that’s going to give them some air. Something that promotes bud and bloom. Okay. So, this one says buds and bloom.
So, I’m going to need this. This is too much. Too exciting.
That’ll trail for you. That’s a That’s a showstopper. The stripey one. This will give you a little bit of brightness.
I like how you’re doing a color palette, Eileen. I look I’ve already become more sophisticated. Do I need to dead head?
I have a mechanical a utility bill. Oh my gosh.
So, you’re going to go down and you’re going to cut the dead flower off. Is this in full sun?
This gets half and half. 4 hours part, 6 hours full. Look at me. Little learner.
Eileen, this was an amazing experience.
I learned so much. I feel like a professional gardener now, or at least I’m going to fake it when I get home.
And I have a feeling my pots and yard are going to look phenomenal.
So, thank you so much. So many green houses, so many plants. Everyone should come to Dandelion Acres because I’m going to make my neighbors pretty jealous.
