Woodstock is ending housing incentive programs developed by the EDC

Acting on a recommendation from Woodstock Economic Development Director Abbie Sherman, the Town Selectboard voted unanimously Tuesday evening to end the housing incentive programs previously devised and administered by the municipality’s former Economic Development Commission (EDC) advisory body.

The selectboard action means that no new housing incentive grants from the now-defunct EDC programs will come before the town governing body for its consideration. Grants already in the municipal pipeline via the former housing incentives initiatives will be administered, monitored for compliance, and paid out over the next one to two years by Sherman and the town’s finance office.
