The Woodstock football team traveled to Brandon last Friday night for a rematch with the Otter Valley Otters, who they defeated handedly in last season’s championship game. While the faces on either team may have changed, the result didn’t, as Woodstock took home a strong 43-14 victory.

Leading the way on the offensive side of the ball was quarterback Aksel Oates who threw for 208 yards and one touchdown on 7/12 passing. Rowan Larmie caught the score from Oates. Brody McGaffigan caught all three of his targets Friday night for 110 receiving yards. Riley O’Neal dominated in the running game for Woodstock, tallying 96 rush yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

On defense, Milo Farrington and Cole Little each accounted for 13 tackles, while Little added an interception. McGaffigan picked off an Otter pass as well.

With the win, the Wasps have now won two in a row after their opening night loss to go 2-1 on the season. Woodstock will hope to continue this momentum on Friday night, as they welcome Fairfax/Lamoille to town at 7 p.m.
