Last Thursday night, Sept. 4, the Woodstock boys soccer team suffered a hard loss in their first game of the season against Brattleboro.
Despite a valiant effort from senior captain Owen Whalen in goal, the visiting Wasps fell 6-1. Whalen saved 10 of 16 shots while playing out of position, but Brattleboro’s offense proved to be too explosive. The Bears scored five of their six goals in the first half.
The Wasps will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 9, against Fair Haven in Woodstock at 4:30 p.m.
