Saskadena Six Ski Area in South Pomfret hosted the 30th Annual Pomfret Ox Pull on Sunday, with the oxen and pony pull event at 10 a.m., followed by a Chicken BBQ Dinner. Proceeds benefit the Pomfret-Teago Volunteer Fire Department. Below, Mark Whitney, of Chelsea, spurs his oxen pair onwards. Competitors have three tries to pull a load six feet in distance.
