Bridge #28 – Hale Hollow Road
Sealed bids from pre-qualified contractors shall be Accepted until 4:00 p.m., prevailing time on January 12, 2026 at Bridgewater Town Office for construction and repairs to the project hereinafter described. Bid opening will occur on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the regular Selectboard meeting. The time of receiving and opening bids may be postponed due to emergencies or Unforeseen conditions.
Sealed BIDS shall be marked in the lower left-hand corner: Bid Documents: Bridge #28.
LOCATION: GPS location 43.57059 N – 72.664753 W on Hale Hollow Road.
TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION: Install one lane temporary bridge to maintain access and removal after completion of project. Excavate roadway approach behind abutment #1 as recommended by the Town’s Consultant Engineer. Scouring report, drawing and backfill information will be provided at mandatory meeting. The roadway approach shall be reconstructed which shall include the roadway Subbase material and pavement.
CONTRACT COMPLETION DATE: The contract will be awarded on January 20, 2026, at the Selectboard meeting. Contract completion is to be determined as weather and ANR allow access to the stream.
PREBID CONFERENCE: A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held for the project on December 16, 2025, at 9:00 am at the Bridgewater Town Garage, 65 School House Road, Bridgewater Corners, VT.
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS: This contract is governed by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS) 2018 Standard Specifications for construction.
