Wasps Football lost to U-32 in first game of the season

The Wasps football team lost their season opener last Friday night, falling 35-14 at home to the U-32 Raiders.

Woodstock stayed competitive in the first half, thanks in large part to a 71-yard touchdown run by senior Asher Emery that narrowed the score to 14-7 in the second quarter. However, the Wasps struggled to contain the Raiders’ offense throughout the game, with U-32 capitalizing on penalties and missed tackles to extend their lead.

Sophomore tailback Cole Little added a one-yard touchdown in the second half for the home team, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

The Wasps will look to bounce back this Saturday, Sept. 13, when they take on Poultney.
